Trio
These three remind me of Thomas Eakins' student models, but I have
a hunch they may be French. Regardless, it's a personal favorite photo.
I can see why this is a personal favourite. So much to appreciate here. I agree with your hunch that they may be French, Jerry. I love how comfortable they are with each other and with posing for the photo. Do you think they were artist models? They are all handsome looking gents and special mention has to be made to the guy in the middle and his low hangers.
1 and 3 are circumcised. Middle guy appears uncut with short foreskin by today's standards. Don't think they would be from France. Also, checlk the pube trim for 1 (left guy). Ceiling beam on left. What they are sitting on could be the edge of a bed and to the right, there could be another bed alongside, and that would likely make it army barracks. Likely USA.
They seem so cheerful! No hangups about being naked. Good!
ReplyDeleteWork buddies who happen to work nude. Great picture and a great gig if you can get it.

I'm pretty certain they were models, and the guy in the middle is indeed worthy of your comment.
DeleteI'll take all three please...don't wrap them up I'll eat it here
ReplyDeleteNot a reject in the group.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites also. I remember the unaltered original tintype went for hundreds of dollars on eBay.
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember where I found this one, but it is indeed a favorite.
