Western Photography Guild - At Home

Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild is best known for his outdoor work in
stunning Western settings.  He did, however, do a moderately large volume of studio and
indoor home work.  Today we will look at some items from several of his "at home" sets
showing models in domestic settings.  We start with Steve Anthony raiding the fridge.

  1. Hairy and handsome. I'll take 2 out of 3. We're tats common back then?

    1. Tats were around, but not common. A lot of Mr. Whitman's early models were competitive bodybuilders, and they would lose points for tattoos. This was made in the early 70s, I think, and not only were tats seen a bit more often, but WPG had broadened its model base somewhat.

  2. One of my favourite models. Lovely natural man! I can appreciate him despite the tattoos (not my thing really!). I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall an anecdote where Steve was baffled why people would find him appealing! What a lovely modest charm. That man has a LOT to find appealing.

    1. I can believe the story as I'm sure there were a number of well liked models who didn't "get" their popularity.

  4. That hair style started around the mid 60s and continued into the early 70s. I remember one of my uncles having this style and others keeping their 60s look.
Some people keep their hair styled a certain way for a long time.
