Man in the surf

I have a feeling that this was done by a known photographer, but I don't have his name.
All I recorded in my notes was "10 Untitled (Man in surf) late 1930s."

  1. For some reason, I find this picture really lovely. It's blurry, grainy, and yet the composition is arty and attractive

  2. Yes, this must be by a professional or a very, very talented amateur. The spacing in the composition is perfect - with even shadow. A charming image.

  3. Great foto by Burke, in a way sublime. The textures of the rough rock, the roiling sea and the man's smooth skin....:)

    1. Burke's work was quite good, but his nudes are only a small part of it. And to my knowledge, he never did any male frontal nudes.
