Man in the surf
I have a feeling that this was done by a known photographer, but I don't have his name.
All I recorded in my notes was "10 Untitled (Man in surf) late 1930s."
vakker bild. burke burde vaere bedre kjent sa vel som andre fotografer av den mannlige naken. noen land trenger mer anerkjennelse av sine artister. *osloson
For some reason, I find this picture really lovely. It's blurry, grainy, and yet the composition is arty and attractive
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone, BD. Shadow or not!
DeleteWell, there is a shadow, but not THAT shadow.
DeleteYes, this must be by a professional or a very, very talented amateur. The spacing in the composition is perfect - with even shadow. A charming image.
ReplyDeleteI just remembered that this indeed professional and done by Australian Eric Keast Burke.
DeleteGreat foto by Burke, in a way sublime. The textures of the rough rock, the roiling sea and the man's smooth skin....:)

ReplyDeleteBurke's work was quite good, but his nudes are only a small part of it. And to my knowledge, he never did any male frontal nudes.
