Raymond M. Hall

Ending the George Dureau series with this photo of Raymond Maxwell Hall.
I find the bit of shadow at right to be an interesting compositional detail.

    1. You're welcome, James. It's very rare that I post something new to you.

  2. I, also, enjoyed this series.

  3. The shadow is also interesting because there appears to be no light source on the left to cast it; the light is coming from front right. Nice series.

    1. Thanks, Larry, and yes, the light is exceptionally done.

  4. I hope someday someone-maybe me-will write a bio of George. I never met him but we had many mutual friends, and I've heard interesting stories about him. He used to live on the 900 block of Barracks street (in the Quarter) and if he saw an interesting guy on the sidewalk, holler down and ask him if he wanted his picture taken.-Dee Exx

    1. I used to walk through that area all the time, and now I wonder if I ever passed George Dureau on the street. I'm certain that nobody ever asked to take my picture, although one guy who did portraits on Jackson Square used me as a shill for a while. I got a free one that I still have.
