For the last day of Segue Week, your friendly blogger is indulging one of his quirky likes, 19th and early 20th C. men in form fitting striped shorts or bathing suits. We start with a well built man who would seem to be showing off. And why not? When you've got it . . .
Is this not Eugen Sandow without moustache?
ReplyDeleteYes, see 2ndWave below for more. I didn't know, and wouldn't have guessed.
DeleteWe all looked a bit better when we were in our prime. LOL. All of my sources say he is Sandow. But I have to agree with you that I wouldn't have guessed it was him. The face is what gives me pause.
DeleteEugen Sandow, ca 1885, about age 18.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the details!
DeleteA very handsome man, perhaps the most handsome in today's series, but despite everything, it's not my favorite photo of the day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree, and he was even famous! Sandow looked better after he had filled out some.
DeleteI didn't look like that at 18! Alas, wishful thinking. Lol. He is appealing in those trunks.
ReplyDeleteVery few of us looked like that at 18.
DeleteOh my, so nice. A really pleasure and site to see!
