This is supposedly a 1922 photo of Charles Atlas in a posing strap, and I like it because it shows a bit of bush and has him in a somewhat unusual pose. Oh, and that bulge is nice, too. What I can't figure out is how the posing strap is attached and just what his hand gesturing indicates.
Looking at pictures of Charles Atlas when I was a kid, even though he was in trunks, used to make me pop wood. Had I seen THIS photo...Wow. He does seem to be nicely hung. And he was good looking. Do you know who took this pic?
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew who took it. Mr. Atlas was indeed a fine looking man.
DeleteThis photograph is of historical interest, demonstrating that a century ago, the moral climate and the ethos of the Victorian period still obtained. Forty years later, photographers were censoring their own work - Bob Mizer's film of Don Hawksley and John Hadnagy wrestling - because they feared prosecution for showing pubic hair.
ReplyDeleteQuite a contrast indeed!
Deleteit is an string thong posing strap, the very thing white string is visible just below the black scratch starting close to the belly button.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I see it now.
Deletecorrection: the very thin, not the very thing...
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's signaling "quote, unquote"
ReplyDeleteI just realized that he might be playing imaginary castanets.
