Military Medicals

Our theme for Monday is military medical exams.  (The sheer number of nude photos made of these things never ceases to amaze me.)  The doctor in this one looks like,  "Ughhh . . . I am so over this job."
And does anybody know what that device is on the table at right?

  1. I believe that device is a sterilizer. Back in the days before disposable everything, instruments were sterilized and reused. My doctor had one when I was a kid.

I rather think that this device is a spirograph.
It was used to measure lung capacity. The patient was blowing in the tube and air filled the upper container, which rose like a glass spilled in water. A graduation on the moving part indicated the volume of air blown by the lungs.

    1. Correct, Albert! A kind viewer sent me a photo of a spirograph with an explanation.

  3. The device is a spirometer for evaluating pulmonary functions.

  4. I'd love to do this. Probably more as a medical model. Some medical schools I think still use nude models to teach anatomy.

    1. Really? I didn't know that. I wonder if they have "hands on" learning.

    2. A model friend did some medical school work. Nude in lecture theatre, various muscles pointed at with stick as he demonstrated them.
