Ralph Kelly Day
It's been a while since I did a series on the work of Ralph Kelly, a photographer who was most active from 1948-1958. We'll see a mix of well known and lesser known models, starting with one of my personal favorite Kelly models, Bob Cutlass.
I like the lighting in this shot. The oil brings out his shoulders and pecs, and the swath of light across his groin reminds us he's all man. And, oh, that smile...
Thanks for a great start to this series, Jerry. Bob Cutlass is one of my favourite models full stop. Good looking, hairy, hung and with a smile that could light up a room and warm the coldest of hearts. As has been mentioned before, he really looks as though he enjoyed modelling

ReplyDeleteYes, the lighting is effective on several levels.

All true, plus his stance with one foot forward somehow adds to the impact.
