Urban 1938
I'm closing the photography half of today's double feature with a picture from 1938, the dawn of the Golden Age of physique photography. Al Urban was a pioneer, and this photo is George Kuchler.
I was behind a guy with that haircut in a checkout line at the big box store, just this week. I had to admire all the effort it took to tame that kinky hair into something stylish and masculine. Plus this hairstyle had the advantage of surviving a Category 4 tornado with minimal touch-up.
The male has a perfectly defined torso. And he is pretty good looking. But that hair...
