Jock

Jock Valjean seems to be dealing with a knotty situation.  With a name like Jock, I'm left
wondering why Chuck Renslow didn't have him pose in one instead of that posing pouch.

  1. I think "Jock Valjean" may be a play on Jean Valjean, the protagonist of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel Les Misérables, "Jock" being a Scottish variant of "John" - as "Jack" in England. Jean Valjean escaped from prison... hence the ropes? By the time of this image, "Jock" had indeed come to mean a jockstrap as well as a sportsman or a young, fit man as in "college Jock". I dare say Monsieur Valjean would have filled a jock as well as he fills the strap.

  2. That is one fine looking jock and his name fits. Very good development of his body's physique, probably a letterman that participated in many sports activities.
Valjean fills that pouch well, Renslow could pick 'em.....:)
