George Dureau

This is Troy Brown Leaning on a Stand by George Dureau from 1978.
Best known for his portraits of African-American men, amputees, and little men,
Mr. Dureau hit a home run with this venture outside his usual box.

  1. I've seen a few photos of this handsome and memorable model over the years and now I have a name! Thanks!

P.S. You may see this on my blog in the near future. Credit will be given, of course.

  2. Dureau's pictures of Wally Sherwood-a little man of great stature-are moving. Especially as someone who knew Wally, I always smile at his Dureau images.-Dee Exx

    1. I'll be running a full Dureau series in the next month, but I don't think Wally Sherwood is in it. Maybe later.
