Jumbo
I had this photo of a man, an elephant, and a beach for over a decade,
but didn't know until recently that it was by Bruce Weber.
Bruce Weber's style, his locations and his choice of models and the fact that he shoots in black-and-white, are all very redolent of Danny Fitzgerald's offerings of his "Demi-Dieux" of a previous generation. I can just see them all, dancing in their Lacoste polo shirts, on the beach at Fire Island.
This is a still from the 2001 movie Chop Suey. https://tubitv.com/movies/310494/chop-suey
ReplyDeleteModel is Peter Johnson.
Thanks! I need to inform a certain high end photo resale site about that. They will not be pleased.

ReplyDeleteI thought for a moment there that you had put Danny Fitzgerald and Lacoste polo shirts in the same sentence, but thank goodness you didn't.
DeleteWith difficulty.
