It's time for another look at some men and their cars. We start with one I got from Mr. Scumbeast
that he called "auto booty." At first I was confused because the guy isn't showing his booty,
but then I remembered that "boot" is British slang for a car's trunk.
The young man is flashing a confident look and, obviously, is aware of what he has to offer.....Also, an interesting juxtaposition or parallel of the curve of the car's truck and the young man's arched back.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pleasing arrangement.
DeleteIt's not slang in fact. In the days of the horse-drawn coaches, the driver - if not some of his passengers - would store their boots in a box beneath the driver's seat, known as a "boot locker", shortened for convenience to the "boot". You may wonder why he - and others - were wearing boots, which is answered by the fact that the roads were unmade and everyone in the country wore boots rather than "town shoes". In the first automobiles, the "boot locker" was put to the rear of the vehicle. The same thing happened in America, where the "boot locker" was known as the "trunk". We also have a "bonnet" instead of a "hood" and a "windscreen" rather than a "windshield". If that is a rear-engine car however, Mr Languid here has his booty on the bonnet.
ReplyDeleteHood, bonnet . . . it's all head covering.
DeleteI believe the car might be European, 1940s-ish,
ReplyDeleteMaybe, but the license plate is from the U.S. not Europe. Still an attractive car
DeleteYes, the plate is American. I ran a search to see if I could ID the car, but nothing turned up.
DeleteJaguar Mark VII or VIII from the 1950's, the twin trunk handles built into the lic. plate frame were used by Jaguar then for their lux sedan. The youth is posed well against the trunk deck of his sugar daddy's Jag :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThank you for that! Small tail lights were the thing back then but by today's standards, so unsafe. He is posed well but it might have been fun to tie him down just to be safe and take him for a little joy-ride down Main St, USA.
