This 1940 image of an unknown model is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art where it it has a note attached saying, "The body's contours and volumes breathe warmth throughout the image, so that it pulsates with life without attenuating into pure erotica or kitsch."
Beautiful image of the nude male form, in this case, a well endowed male form.
ReplyDeleteThe male model must have been known by a few who knew of his fine attribute, and he was introduced to Minor White.
White was closeted, perhaps this model opened that closet a bit to let White breath.:)
Well, closeted does not necessarily mean celibate, so you make a good point.
DeleteI must say this image is erotic in a sophisticated way.:)
