Don't know why
This is one of those pictures that I like a lot without having a clue why.
This is titled: "Dr George Bell: Nude Study," by 2 Scottish photographers who were partners in the emerging field of photography, and are regarded as pioneers in photography in the mid-1800s: David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson. Date of photo: 1843-47. Sadly, Adamson died at age 26 in 1848 (tuberculosis). I don't have any more info about the picture itself, unfortunately. It is on display at the National Galleries of Scotland.
