Jerry Debry

Jerry Debry seems to be contemplating his sword in this Bruce of LA image.

  1. No tan lines to speak of, but a terrific male body! Do you think this is all-natural light? His body seems to be brighter than the natural light would be.

    1. I see what you mean, but have no way of knowing.

    2. BD, probably. In fashion photography there is ALWAYS supplemental light to show off the clothing to its best advantage. You will find, in the last 40 years, a lack of any shadow in most fashion advertising. Most of these physique photographers were also fashion photographers who had to know how to light a set. Dark mood lighting, while great for nude modeling, is rarely used in fashion.

    3. Thank you, Greggy. I am a relative newcomer to male photography, so I like it when someone explains things like lighting and posing.

  2. I've been contemplating his sword too, although not necessarily the one in his hand. Mr. Debry is a new name to me but he was a handsome guy with a truly impressive physique. Another keeper!

    2. Thank you. Just bought myself a sword. Well it's wooden, but a good stand in.

  4. Photo taken in 1954/55.
Jerry DeBry another one of Bruce Bellas blond Adonis's, the others being
    David Zurborg and Robert Kendall.
Mr. Bellas certainly had an eye for the male form.
