Quintet
I've always liked this quintet, probably because of the matching stiped suits.
They look happy, and Mr. Second from Right looks to be very friendly.
Of course they're happy – they all just escaped from prison! Just kidding, but these guys are probably in Britain, where striped suits were not associated with prisoners as they were in the U.S. in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Except the second row tall blonde, the swimwear doesn't look very tight. At the same time the look of their faces and haircuts are very contemporary; they wouldn't look out of place on a beach today...
That does indeed look like a bathing machine behind them, which they're sharing.

I agree about the contemporary look. I did some checking, and the photo seems authentic.
