Transitioning
The fellow at left (who may be feeling a chill) is wearing an early version of the new type
of suit in part two of our triple feature. The gentleman at right is in an older 19th C. style.
Bathing machines, more bathing machines and... well, it rather reminds me of the false beginning to Monty Python and the Holy Grail which featured a travelogue on Venice.
Were people hired to pull those things in and out of the water? Also, the guy with his trousers rolled up seems to be giving Mr. Stripes a longing look.

DeleteYes. Strong and sturdy bathers of the appropriate sex would push swimmers from the bathing machine into the water. They were called "dippers".
