And finally, the Royal Navy
At least one of these guys (left) is supposed to be a sailor. Do British Marines wear berets?
If so, that might account for the man in the middle.
Royal Marines that have passed the commando course wear green berets.
Another good taste of British beef, Jerry. Hussar / Royale were a fascinating company. I believe that many or most of their models were active servicemen.
Yes, Peter, I've read more than one well researched account which said the Royale models were mostly servicemen. So my hunch about Royal Marines was on target. Thanks!
Otherwise, British marines wear a dark blue beret. But doubtless never with a little posing strap beneath their fatigues. Do please take a butcher's at the undersized gym shorts. To do any gymnastics in that would cause a nasty accident. They should put him in the Tower of London alongside the Royal Jewels.
The Royal Marine in the posing strap better watch out, the Royal Marine he's grabbing by the arm looks like he's ready to grab him by the pouch ! OUCH !!!! -Rj in the iE
The guy on the right is Peter George from the previous post. He’s in his PT instructors kit. Royale liked to mix soldiers and sailors, there’s no rationale behind it apart from inter-service rivalry. The guys are playing strip poker here. The loser gets spanked naked.
The chap in the middle is Fred Collins, another Royale stalwart, you can see him in the 'Cops or Military' post a few days back, stripping off on the right. The sailor with his back turned is the gorgeous David Reid.

ReplyDeleteTight shorts and pants seem to have been part of the Royale stock in trade, so to speak. Sometimes they look sprayed on.
DeleteJerry, another very entertaining trip down memory lane. Much appreciated. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Julian.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting details, Mitch. I should have recognized Peter George.
