Very nice. It looks like his calves are oiled, but the rest of his body isn't. Odd, isn't it?
I hadn't noticed the oil differential, but it isn't the first time I've seen it. I have no clue as to why it was done that way.
Based on my experience when shooting you get the model to oil up. They can do so their legs but they can't reach their own back so can't do that. So probably the initial idea was only to shoot from the front and side. During the shoot though the model may have asked to have a shot of his back (many do) and they just forgot his back hadn't been oiled. - Davet
