Much of Roman art and architecture was borrowed the Greeks. Mosaics first appeared in Greece in the Fourth Century BCE, but the great bulk of what remains is of Roman origin and extends all around the Mediterranean. Today we will look at ten examples, starting with this Greek work that shows Alexander and Krateros on a lion hunt. From the Royal Palace of Pella, Macedonia.
