Vinegar Strike

I don't know whether to describe these two policemen as amused or bemused, but I do know they
were called out to keep order when the Gloucester Vinegar Factory workers, nearly all women,
went on strike in 1912.  The men are Sergeant 28 John Brooks and P.C. 144 Frederick Ball.

  1. There's that wristband again. I do wish I could find out what that signifies. I didn't realize you had to wear a hat to go on strike.

    1. In those days, I think they had to wear a hat to go just about anywhere.
