P.C. 212 Frederick Eames seems like a jolly sort of guy.
The one thing we haven't had sight of today is the infamous police truncheon. They were made of mahogany and a police officer always carried one as the police in Britain are only armed with a chief commissioner's permission. Perhaps they are suspended on the inside of the jacket. I have a Black friend who will readily talk about what he has been doing with his "mahogany truncheon" - but rather oddly, he has never been in the police.
