What?
I can't tell if our last 2 X 2 Warhol shot is a guy pleasuring himself or checking for something.
I enjoy SOME of the Andy Warhol pictures and movies. The movies are usually weird, but if they have scenes showing male genitals, that is what I look for, and female nudity also.
I enjoyed seeing these. What is interesting is that his influence and vision lives on in the photography of Terry Richardson, Juergen Teller and countless others.
In my opinion, none of the photos I posted today rise to the artistic level of his better known works. As you say, however, they have had a profound influence. Glad you enjoyed the set.
That's true. What I do find fascinating about Warhol is the controversy that some of his famous works were in part the visions of Gerard Malanga or Bridget Berlin. That is still debated today. It wouldn't be the first time someone took credit for it. Margaret Keane comes to mind.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. There was a big group of rejects when I edited what was available for this and a future series.

DeleteThose interlocking patterns of influences and visions are nothing new. G.P. Lynes, the PaJaMa Collective, and Bernard Perlin come to mind.
