Industrial
There was a period in Arthur Tress' career when he made a lot of photos in industrial
settings, often derelect. I could not find a title for this one from 1975.
He is far from the first to go industial with male nudes. Although rare, I have seen examples going back to around 1900. If I can find enought decent material, that would make a good topic for a series.
Man and machine, an old theme in photography. A famous image was Mechanic and Steam Pump by Lewis Wickes Hine 1920 as seen in his photo book Men at Work 1932….:)
Wonderful. Men becoming part of the mechnism. Was he one of the first to do this "naked men and machine" style?
