Flat top?

I can't see his hair very clearly, but I think this gentleman has a flattop.
He also has a nicely shaped posterior.

Odd one

We don't get a money shot in this one, but I had to include this photo of a newsman supposedly interviewing nudists at a convention.  Notice that the woman with whom he's speaking dutifully
has a towel, something expected at nudist gatherings with seating.  Like we all learned
from reading "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe," always take along a towel.

Flattop from Gadsden

Our P.E. teacher would not let us wear watches while in gym class, but maybe they did in Gadsden.  For those of you who don't know, Gadsden is an industrial town of about 33,000 in northeastern Alabama.  When this photo was made around 1960, there were almost 60,000 folks living there.

Trim - Billy Connors

Vulcan did its share of magazine covers, and this is Billy Connors from Trim.  The fur factor
and the flattop remind me of one of my Dad's friends who made me swoon as a teen.
I wonder if he was related to Dennis Connors who appears later in today's series.

Crew cut

I have half a dozen photos of this guy with a crew cut,
but the quality isn't that great.  This is one of the better ones.

Flattop Haircuts

The flattop was a trademark hair style of the 1950's and is the theme for today's series.
We start with David Selhime as photographed by Chuck Renslow of Kris Studio.
Used by kind permission of copyright holder, Leather Archives and Museum of Chicago.

Al

Al Rich had oil on his body and wax, probably a popular brand
called "Butchwax," on his hair in this photo by Dave Martin.
It took some pretty stiff product to get those tufts at the side to stand up.

Mr. Deckman

Pat Milo took this very attractive photo of Don Deckman.

Don

Don Hawksley used plenty of Butchwax in this photo by an unknown photographer.

Russell

This Pat Milo model with a flattop was labeled only "Russell."

George Platt Lynes

It's been a while, so here's another series by the immortal George Platt Lynes.
We start with his dramatically lighted 1954 photo of Gary Garrett.

After I lamented not having any more photos of Doug Felton following his earlier appearance on the blog, a kind and generous viewer who prefers to be anonymous sent me this and one other.
Doug's beaming smile and flattop hair style really make this one stand out.
Disclosure:  I removed some pretty heavy yellowing from this image for clarity.

We finish Bruce Day with Bob Koklick . . . yes, that's the name on the file.
I couldn't make that up, but somebody probably did.  The flattop is sublime.

Our Bum Brigade derriere shot almost made a recent flattop haircut theme.
I get a Dave Martin vibe from this one, but that's just a hunch.

Flat-top Day

Going back to that wildly popular post World War II hairstyle,
the flattop, for todays series.  This is Bruce Sien as photographed by Dave Martin.

Mike Bradburn is one of my favorite Kris/Chuck Renslow models.

This is the first of two unknown flattopped models in today's set.
