Keith Stephan

Bruce of LA makes the first of several appearances in my favorite models series
with this photo of Keith Stephan.  Mr. Bellas sure knew how to pick 'em.

Keith Stephan

Although sometimes listed as unattributed, the corrugated metal backdrop in this picture of Keith Stephan links it to Bruce of LA.  This session with Mr. Stephan must have been amazing because I have at least a dozen photos from it, and that doesn't include any culls, assuming there were any.

Keith Stephan by Spartan

Our last photo is by a lesser known studio, Spartan, but the model is the amazing Keith Stephan.

Keith Stepan

Exactly a month ago, I ran a rather different photo of Keith Stephan by Bruce of LA that was probably made at the same photo shoot.  This one works for today's staff theme.

Keith Stephan

Corrugated background?  Check.  Grass floor mat?  Check.  Exceptional pose?  Check.
Fine model?  Check.  Must be Keith Stephan by Bruce of Los Angeles.

Seven Models in Seven Days, Part 7 - Keith Stephan

For the last day of our Seven Models week, we have Keith Stephan, who looks
quite impressive against what looks like Bruce of LA's trademark corrugated metal
background painted white.  Is this the original color or a later redo.

Ranchito I

Bruce did a lot of Western themed work at a rural property he owned outside LA.  "Ranchito" was the term he used for it.  Keith Stephan has visible thatch creeping out of his posing strap here.

Ranchito II

This derriere photo may have been made at the same time as today's earlier "ranchito" shot.

September 1952

Keith Stephan posed for this magazine cover after he had placed in,
but not won, several bodybuilding competitions.

Pat Milo

My source said this photo of Keith Stephan is by Pat Milo.

By Lyle Frisby

According to the online auction site where I found this, it was photographed
by Lyle Frisby, but printed and distributed later by Pat Milo.  You might have already
noticed that it was not in the Lyle Frisby catalog page featured just now.

No photographer

I have no photographer attribution for this fine posing strap picture of Mr. S.

Quintessential Bruce

Here we get two trademark Bruce of LA elements, the sea grass floor mat and the corrugated
metal backdrop.  Of course, Mr. Stephan would look pretty fine regardless.

Interesting strap

Our last photo of Keith Stephan features a type of posing strap that would
not have been common, and I don't think they were making underwear like that
in the early 1950s.  Or were they?  I'll defer to Calorman on that one.

Keith Stephan

Keith Stephan is best known for his work with AMG and Bruce of LA, but he did
put in an appearance at Spartan.  He really fills out that posing pouch nicely.

Keith

Bruce had a "ranchette" rural property outside LA where he did some of his outdoor work.
I don't know if this shot of Keith Stephan was made there, but the horse drawn wagon makes
me think it possible.  And this one is all about the muscles, no?

Keith

Somehow I haven't managed to post this Bruce of LA
picture of Keith Stephan in chains before now.

Sam Hunter and Keith Stephan are quite impressive in this architectural AMG photo.

Despite having posted several Keith Stephan series,
I have somehow managed not to get to this Bruce of LA photo until now.

Friday Double Feature, Part 1 - Bruce of LA Models Who Look Sculptural

Today we have a double feature, and first we look at some Bruce of LA works that
might have been sculptures.  Later, we'll see some donated examples of the real art pieces.
We start with Keith Stephan, and you can't get much more sculptural than him.
