It's taken me a long time to get around to posting this photo of Norman Tousley, at least partly because I have been looking for a photographer attribution.  I finally figured it out when I found two well documented photos by Dave Martin using that exact column with two other models.

One of the frequent points of discussion in the comments here is the lighting effects in various photos.  Today, we'll take a look at ten different models by ten different master photographers.  I'm starting with an exceptional photo of Norm Tousley by Dave Martin that I somehow haven't posted until now.  The light and shadows combine with the folds in a sheer piece of cloth, and it is amazing.

 

Russ Warner's Models, The Same Guys Nude and Not-so-nude

Russ Warner was a competitive bodybuilder who took up a camera and became one of the best physique photographers.  Thanks to his long-term connections with bodybuilders, he was in demand for "legitimate" non-nude photos for magazines and promotional photos.  He seems to have been quite able to talk his models out of their pants, though, and had perhaps the largest group of models to have been photographed both nude and in various states of cover.  So today we will look at alternating photos of the same models nude and semi-nude, starting with the great Norm Tousley.

 

Norm Tousley is better known for his nude posing, but he made quite a 

few impressive semi-nudes and trunk/posing strap shots.

 

Those of us who never get tired of the great Norm Tousley will all like this Dave Martin photo.

Norm Tousley worked for several golden age physique photographers,

but this one is unattributed in my database and on line.

Since Tousely is an Irish name, I had to include this photo of Norman by Dave Martin.
