Bucket

It looks like this WWII German soldier is about to be doused by his bucket wielding friend.
If so, I think his towel could easily get soaked as well.

Celebrities in the Tub Day II

Today is installment two of a group of sets showing celebrities in the bathtub.
We start with Ernest Borgnine in a scene From McHale's Navy.

Jack Lemmon

We get a peek at Jack Lemmon's hairy chest in this one.

Alan Hale, Jr.

I posted a different shot of Alan Hale, Jr. from this scene in my last celebrities in the tub series.
This was long before Gilligan's Island, but I wouldn't mind being stranded with him any time.

Burl Ives

I almost used this one in yesterday's chubby set, but decided to save it for celebrity tub day.
That's Burl Ives having an animated conversation with Rock Hudson in the bath.

Babe Ruth

Apparently Babe Ruth gave out autographed photos of himself nude in a bathtub.
The lucky recipients of this one were his pals Greg and Willy.  Lucky guys.

Dan Blocker

We see a sublimely happy Dan Blocker splashing away in this GIF from Bonanza.
Mr. Blocker was a beautiful man, inside and out, loved by all who knew him.

Dale Robertson

This 1953 photo of Dale Robertson looks like he's going
ecstatic from a foot rub being given by a fetishist daddy.

Robert Conrad

Robert Conrad looks good even with suds on his fur.

Lawrence Olivier

This is not what I expect when I think of Sir Lawrence Olivier.

Steve McQueen

Ending the celebs in the tub set with a grinning Steve McQueen.

Ledo Road

Bernard Hoffman took this photo of an American officer
along the Ledo Road during the Burma Campaign of 1944.

Verdun I

The Battle of Verdun was one of the bloodiest in history with truly horrific conditions for both sides.  I recently came across some photos of men who had been rotated out of the Verdun front for rest and refitting.  Here we see some men enjoying a bath in what might be part of a mill pond.

Celebrities in the Tub

Today's theme is celebrities in the tub, and we start the show with baseball star Jerry Reuss
sharing a whirlpool bath with LA Dodgers manager Tommy Lasords.

Sean Connery

That's Sammy Davis, Jr. on the cover of the magazine Sean Connery
is reading in the tub in this scene from Diamonds Are Forever.

Alan Hale, Jr.

Better known as the Skipper on Gilligan's Island, Alan Hale, Jr.
appears here in a bathtub scene from much earlier in his career.

Rock Hudson

In this scene from Pillow Talk, Rock Hudson was chatting with Doris Day on the phone while in the tub.  She was in her own tub, and the director used a split screen to show the conversation.

Henry Fonda

The Best Man was a political drama from 1964 that starred Henry Fonda.
The guy on the toilet is actor John Henry Faulk.

Dan Blocker

Dan Blocker (1928-1972) has been called a gentle giant, a teddy bear, and one of the most decent men to ever grace a TV screen.  When asked how he managed to cry on demand for film and TV roles, his co-star Michael Landon said,  "I just think of Dan Blocker dying so young and the tears come."  Mr. Blocker was a decorated Korean War veteran, held a master's degree in dramatic arts, and was a devoted husband and father of four.  Here are two GIFs from Bonanza.

Alan Bates

I don't know why Alan Bates is sniffing his armpit.  He is getting a bath, after all.
The inset at upper right shows him from another angle.
