Don Fuller

I couldn't overlook Don Fuller when I started this project, so I included this charming unattributed photo.

Don Fuller

I've posted other R.A. Enterprises photos of Don Fuller before,
but somehow managed to leave this one out until now.

Color from Bruce

One thing I noticed when putting this series together was that the best semi-nudes of John Krivos almost all included at least one other model.  He looks fine on his own in the solo posing strap photos of him that I have, but he really excells in combinations of various sorts.  In this color shot by Bruce, he even manages to look great next to the amazing Don Fuller.

Don Fuller Day

Don Fuller consistently looked great in just about every sort of photo with all types of props and settings.  Today we look at some of that variety, starting with a side view with a disc.

I can't tell if Don is getting ready to climb this tree or hug it.

The bullwhip, the posing strap, and the shadows combine in an extraordinary
way in this photo of Don Fuller by an unknown photographer.

I suspect that Bruce of LA took this photo of Don Fuller (left) and an unknown model,
but that's just a hunch based on the composition and lighting.

Don Fuller looks great even though the photo quality isn't exactly the best
and the carpet looks dirty.  Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy would probably
have something to say about the uneven pleats in the curtains, too.

This is one of two photos in today's series attributed unofficially to Kris Studio of Chicago.
I tend to believe it because Chuck Renslow of Kris was known to have visited Los Angeles and worked with some of the great LA photographers and their models, particularly Bob Mizer.

Here's something for you long neglected underwear fanciers.

This is yet another of an inordinately large number
of photos of Don Fuller with no photographer attribution.

Dick Fontaine of Apollo Studio took this photo of Don Fuller
with a sword and a spiffy posing strap.

I found this photo on a resale site attributed to Kris Studio, a known venue for Don Fuller.  It is not, to my knowledge, in the definitive Kris collection at the Leather Archives and Museum however.

I never get tired of looking at the handsome Don Fuller.

Chuck Renslow of Chicago's Kris Studio is supposed to have taken
this photo of Don Fuller (l) and Kip Behar on a trip to California.

Don Fuller Bill Grant only has the arrows.  Who had the bow?
Edited to add:  As pointed out in the comments by lovernotafighter55 and James IV,
this is Bill Grant.  What a silly mistake!  Thanks, guys.

Kip Behar posed with Don Fuller in a memorable outdoor photo shoot (posing strap, alas) that no one seems to have a photographer attribution for.  I have a hunch it was Bruce, but no proof.

Don Fuller Day, Part 2 - Almost as Good with Pants

In part two of today's Don Fuller extravaganza, I'm posting some photos of him in various stages of being dressed . . . or undressed.  The man looked great either way.  In my many years of collecting vintage photos, it is quite usual to encounter loads of photos where the photographer is known but the models are not.  In Don Fuller's case, the opposite is true in that I have many more photos of him lacking the photographer's name than having it.  Odd, that.

I've always found this photo of Don Fuller on a leopard skin with a book to be fascinating.  The cover says "The Aztec 2012," and I wonder if that was some 1950's predecessor to the Mayan end of the world story of seven years ago, or if someone photoshopped it.
I'm generally not a big fan of posing strap photos, but this
one of Don Fuller and Kip Behar is too good to pass up.
