Military Men, Part 2 - Australians with Moustaches

Part two of our military double feature is comprised of studio photos Australian soldiers from the period ca. 1890-1918.  They all have what I consider to be very fine moustaches.
We start with Private George Lionel Hutton who was honored by being sent to London as part of the Australian contingent for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902.  He was a member of the First Queensland Mounted Infantry and won two medals in the Boer War.  I can see why they picked him.

These handsome fellows were part of the South Australia Mounted Rifles.

I only have a name for this Australian soldier, Trooper Robert Gordon Fleming.

Majors Frederick George Purcell (left) and H. B. Chalmers, both of
the Fifth Victoria Mounted Contingent, had their photograph taken together.

This is Trooper William "Bill" Tough who was born 23 June 1874 at Mount Harris, New South Wales.  His moustache is a bit restrained, but still impressive with its little handlebars.

This undated photo shows the Battery Sergeants and Battery Sergeants Major
of an Adelaide Militia unit.  A fine looking group if ever I saw one.

Lest we forget the horrible futility of war, I am including this photo of Donald John McPherson Smith of the 44th Battalion.  This handsome man was killed at Paeschendale in 1917.

Between the crosses row on row.
