I recently managed to find a few "new" male nudes by British photographer John Graham.  Most of them were of Clive Norman, shown above.  I'll post more in a future series.  I have to confess that Mr. Graham is probably better known in collectors' circles than most of the other photographers in this series.  It's the rarity of his full nudes that sets him apart.

For Sunday, I'm showcasing ten European physique photo studios, some of which will be familiar to viewers and some of which will not.  We start with Clive Norman by John Graham of London.

 

British Beef Day, Part 1 - Nudes by John Graham

Our Friday double feature is all British, starting with some nude photos by John Graham.  He wasn't as well known as Barrington, but the quality of his work was definitely a cut above Barrington's.  Unfortunately, we don't have nearly as many works by Graham extant.  This is Tom Knott, a bodybuilder who looks quite justifiably pleased with himself.

Based on how often he was photographed by John Graham, I'd say British 

bodybuilder Clive Norman was a favorite model.  If my source's dating is correct, 

this is the oldest Graham photo in my collection at 1949.

This is Alwyn Murtagh, a model who posed for four photos 

in my John Graham collection, none of them full frontal.

John Graham took this reclining photo of Scotsman Mike Wallace in 1957.

And no, this isn't the same guy as the notable American TV news reporter.

Joe Robinson posed for this John Graham photo in 1956.

He was an actor who was also active in judo and wrestling.

John Graham of London, Part 2 - Non-nudes

Our G rated John Graham series starts with this rather artistic shot of Howard Powell, 

a model who also appeared in today's nude series.

John Hague appears in this expertly lighted Graham photo.

These two men comprise the only duo in my John Graham collection.

This Graham photo of an unknown model has a strong Lon of New York or Al Urban flavor to it.

John Graham of London, Part 1 - Nudes

Way back in December, I posted two photos by John Graham in a series called "British Beef."  That left me wanting more, but I have only found about a dozen more nudes by Graham along with a half dozen seminudes and posing pouch photos.  I will keep looking for more because I really like Graham's work.  Any help of submissions will be appreciated and credited.  We start today's R series with this shot of Clive Norman, one of Graham's most frequent models from what I can tell.
