Here we have Larry Madden and what may be a bayonet in a Bobco photo.

Bert Callinder . . . with a little help from my friends

A few weeks ago I posted a photo of Bert Callinder and lamented the lack of derriere shots of this fine model.  Well, with a little help from my friends, I got some "new" images of him.  Cambria provided the BobCo (Bob Carr) studio shot above, and Brian E. sent me the group shot from behind below.  That's Bert on the left and one of the other guys is Jimmy Smith.  This may be a Wyngate & Bevins "nudist" photo, in which case the photographer could have been Bob Mizer of AMG.

Lesser Known Physique Photographers - The Occasional Series II

Today we have another installment of my occasional series on lesser known photographers.
We start the show with Larry Madden by Bobco, the studio of Bob Carr.

Bobco Studio Day

The more material I find by Bobco, the more I like it, so here's another series.
We start with the always pleasing Larry Madden with a bamboo pole.

Larry Bordeaux

The caption under this photo of Larry Bordeaux is supposed
to actually be by Bob Carr, the man who founded Bobco Studio.

Brian Idol

I wasn't expecting to find Brian Idol in the Bobco section of a physique photography
retrospective publication from the early 1970s, but there he was.  He looks quite young.

Mike Stern

A sumptuous blue background works in this photo of Mike Stern.
He also modeled for AMG and Bruce of LA.

Blackie Preston

Best known for his portrayal of Narcissus at AMG,
Blackie Preston also worked at Bobco.

Karl David

Read the narrative on the side of this photo of Karl David.  It's interesting.

Bob Penn

Bob Carr of Bobco took quite a number of photos of Bob Penn.  Easy to see why.

Rick Storm

Posed on the diagonal with sandals on a rock, Rick Storm looks uncomfortable.
Maybe that rock was hot and burning his backside.

John Powers

Here we have John Powers and his love beads, which were demure compared to most.

Deak Rivers

Our last Bobco model of the set is Deak Rivers and his greasy hair.

Bob Penn

Starting the Bobco run with a picture of Bob Penn
that I admire for its raw quality.

Mike Stern, looking a bit stern

Mike Stern worked for AMG as well as Bruce, and here for Bobco.
His facial expressions looks like he may be trying to live up to his name.

Bob again

Bob Penn makes his second appearance in today's series in an outdoor shot.
He looks like he might have bleached his hair since the first photo was made.

Dennis

We get a nice grin from Dennis Lavia who's wearing some skimpy undies.
Or is that a swim suit?  Calling Calorman!
