Henry Scott Tuke Day, Part 2 - the Paintings

Henry Tuke Day continues with the artist's exceptional paintings.  This self portrait is very similar to a photograph taken of Tuke by an unknown photographer.

Ruby, Gold, and Malachite from 1902 is probably my favorite painting by Henry Scott Tuke.
It shows Tuke's outstanding talent for subject, locale, lighting, and composition.

Charlie Mitchell was the model for this rare Tuke painting showing frontal nudity.

The weather isn't the only thing warming up in Noonday Heat
I sense the beginning of some chemical reaction.

The Green Waterway is exceptional for the way it captures the light on the water . . . and the models.

I don't have a title for this Tuke painting of two boys and their swimming dog.
Edited to add:  Thanks to Albert in the comments for
letting us know that this is The Three Companions.

Henry Scott Tuke Day, Part 1 - the Photographs

This is Henry Scott Tuke (1858-1929), an English Impressionist painter whose best known work generally featured nude and semi-nude teenage male models in the Cornwall coastal landscape.  You can learn more about him at this Wikipedia link:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Scott_Tuke
Generally considered to be gay, documentation of that important element of his life is limited because his sister destroyed the bulk of his personal letters and documents when he died.  Apparently, she did that in either an effort to protect his reputation or in a residual fit of Victorian morality.  We start with his photographs, some of which were no doubt studies for paintings.  Before you think I'm doing a "day of the derriere," understand that he never seemed to photograph his subjects frontally nude.

This is Tom White, a young Cornish man said to be one of Henry Scott Tuke's favorite models.  Based on the number of photographs in which he is identified, I'd say there's some truth to that.

In my photo file notes these Tuke models are listed as "unknown," but I will gladly
correct and credit if anyone knows who they might be.

This is one of several photos in my collection that show Henry Tuke either
working or getting set up to work.  The model is Donald Rolph.

This photo is often listed as a "possible Tuke" in on-line archives.  It certainly fits his thematic style and locale, but the model looks as though he might be both older and beefier than Tuke's usual type.

Although it doesn't look comfortable, this unknown Tuke model is lying
in a cleft in the Cornish coastal rocks on a bed of sand and seaweed.
