Dale Curry

This Lyle Frisby photo is one that I recently found while trolling resale websites.  It's interesting in that it was both new to me and an example where we can see that a drawn on posing strap was rubbed off by the original purchaser.  Also, he didn't bother to rub off the waist string.

Dale Curry Day

Dale Curry was known to have worked for AMG, Lyle Frisby, and Kovert of Hollywood,
but a surprisingly large number of his photos are by unknown photographers.  Today I will
feature ten of those, starting with Mr. Curry walking across the frame.

Kovert?

This is another one where a Freddie Kovert connection would not surprise me.

Flex geometry

Whoever set up this pose combined a classic flex pose
with some angular geometry to produce a fine photo.

Light background

Most of Dale Curry's work shows him on a dark background,
but this one and one other in today's set are reversed.

Combination

This picture combines a classic pinup element with a "man of steel" pose.

Modified recline

This one is a different take on the reclining nude.

Another odd one

Here's another photo with a light colored background.
Mr. Curry looks good in any case.

Interesting pose

I like the pose here where Mr. Curry is looking
to one side while leaning a bit to left forward.

Leaning

Mr. Curry leans to one side here,
and it works aesthetically.

Not the clearest

The last Dale Curry photo in the set seems slightly out of focus to me.

Dale Curry

Dale Curry was a popular model whose career extended from the late 1940s into the early 1960s.  He appeared in a Dick Falcon photo for MANual magazine and also in an ad, but I can find no more photos of him attributed to Mr. Falcon.  The ad promised at least six.  Anybody have more?

Dale Curry Day

When I did a series on Dale Curry six months ago, it was well received and resulted in immediate requests for more.  Sorry it took so long, but today is the day for a second series.  We start with one of quite a few photos of him in my collection with no photographer listed.

Seductive

There's something seductive about this AMG photo of Dale Curry.
I don't know if it's his expression or the position of his hands.

Outlier

This is the first of two photos in today's series that strike me as outliers in style.

Reclining

Dale Curry looks good in almost any pose, but this reclining photo is a bit unusual for him.
The style makes me think of Kovert or Lyle Frisby, but it may not be either.

Denim

This photo of Dale Curry came to me with no photographer attribution,
but Bob Mizer of AMG was fond of denim shots.

Looking right at us

Dale Curry has an unwavering look right into the camera in this photo
that doesn't match the style of most of the others in my collection.

Promotional

Here we see Dale Curry posing with a paste-up of an AMG ad.  I can't tell if all those pictures are of Dale or not.  If they are, there are a couple of dozen that I haven't been able to find anywhere.
