1930s Part 1 - Assorted Unknowns
It's 1930s day, and we have a two parter. Part one is a group of six photos that have been dated to the 1930s, but for which I have been able to find no model of photographer attributions. We start with an item dated at 1939 that looks like Earle Forbes' work. It does not, however, appear in any of the databases or websites featuring his photos.
Another pose
I've posted other photos using the same prop and probably the same model,
but I haven't been able to track down information on any of them.
1930s Part 2 - Elio Luxardo
Elio Luxardo (1908-1969) was an Italian photographer and occasional film maker. He specialized in wedding photos and portraits of the aristocracy. Dunring the 1930s, however, he dabbled in male semi-nudes, and part two of today's series features those. We start with an utitled work.
Cropped
While we might want to see the model's face, the cropping
used by Luxardo here does focus the eye on the man's body.
Primo Carnera
This is Primo Carnera, a champion boxer and wrester who also appeared in movies.
At 6'6" and 270 pounds, he was a giant, and he posed for Elio Luxardo in 1933.
More muscles
Our final Elio Luxardo photo shows a man who seems to be flexing and about to throw a punch at the same time. The oil would usually be past my limit, but the muscles are so fine that I don't care.

Nine pence for Superman
Superman Magazine from the UK could be had for nine pence in 1933. I love how they listed
an article about posing in the nude with one on how to prevent sunburn immediately below it.
Possible Earle Forbes
Some sources attribute this to Earle Forbes, and some say photographer unknown.
Unfortunately, no one has even a hunch about the handsome model's name.
Ainu Men
In the 1930s some anthropologists visited and photographed the Ainu people of far northern Japan. Ainu are a very distinct ethnic group who do not resemble Japanes much at all. The fellow above
had a nice happy trail leading down to that wraparound cloth. The man below has short hair and a fundoshi style loincloth, both likely borrowed from encroaching Japanese culture.
Doubtful
A reputable vintage resale website dated this at 1930, but I have my doubts.
The hairstyle looks later than that to me.
