Floating Bath House

A floating bath house in Stockholm was the setting for this picture.
It was actually for swimming rather than taking a bath.

Swede

A Swedish academy had the great idea to have their students do head
paintings as part of their training, and this striking image is one result.

Swedes

These guys are Swedes having fun in what looks like a drainage canal in a forest.

Ferrero Day, Part 2 - Magazine Covers

When I did my last Ferrero double feature, I lamented the lack of magazine covers in my collection.  A lucky break corrected that deficiency when I came across a vintage magazine resale website that had a nice group of Ferro's covers for sale, most of them from Muscle magazine as shown above.  Our first cover man is Janko Rudman, a Swede who competed at the highest levels from 1966 to 1982.

Scandinavia Day, Part 1 - Nudes by Foto Grafo of Sweden.

Going to the far north of Europe for today's double feature.  First, we will look at some fine Swedish nudes produced by Foto Grafo Studio.  This is Hans Olaf.

Joergen

Joergen Hermansson is holding what might be a ball in this Foto Grafo picture.
Or is he about to plaster the photographer with a water balloon?

Per

We see Per Taboldy here in a relatively rare Foto Grafo derriere shot.

Jac

Jac Jackson does not sound like a Swedish name, but several experts have said that he is indeed Swedish.  In this Foto Grafo image he's getting out of his leathers . . . or is he getting into them?

Bo

Said to be one of Foto Grafo's early works, this photo of Bo Larsson shows him slathered in oil.

Swedes, Part 2 - Summer Fun

Sweden does have a summer, and they do enjoy being by the water.  Part 2 of our double feature shows some fellows having fun in the sun.  We start with some sort of 1940's ball game.

Apparently Swedish competitive swimmers were still wearing onesies in 1936.
I really like the Tarzan look at right, but most of you are probably noticing the guy in the middle.

This 1910 group of Swedes looks like it might have been a water polo team.  Go, team, go!

One of the little devils strong man Karl Alberts is hoisting seems to be taking down his bathing suit.  I wonder if he pulled it off and would like to see it if he did.

They gave this winning Swedish swimmer a plate instead of a trophy in 1941.

Swedish Intermission - Water Polo

As a transition from our nude Swedes to not-so-nudes, I thought I'd post this photo of the Swedish national water polo team in Athens, said to be from 1906.  That was not an Olympic year, and I can't figure out if the date is wrong or if they were just looking for a warm place to practice.
Edited to add:  See Tom's comment for info on the 1906 games.
