Tuesday campout

Tuesday's theme is camping out, and we start with that basic need of every camper,
the sleeping bag.  This guy has one that looks big enough for two.

Backpacker

Backpack tech has come a long way.  Remember those incredibly uncomfortable camping types from the 70's.  I had one I called "the Backbreaker" that nearly killed me on a 12 mile mountain camping expedition into Big Bend National Park in 1974.  This photo may not be that old, though.
Did they make watches like that in the 70's?  I don't remember.

Triumph

These triumphant fellows must have just won the camp volleyball championship.

Limited comforts

This photo is from a set made at a nudist campout for a 1960s magazine.
This guy brought along a folding table, a portable radio, and a towel.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe says to always take along a towel, btw.

Trollops?

I have a hunch that these "campers" are trollop models as opposed to serious outdoorsmen.
And if all three of them shared that tent?  We can guess what happened next.

Cats

I got a viewer request for a series featuring models with cats.  You'd be surprised how hard it was to find enough photos.  There are tons with dogs, and I've done several canine series.  But the cats are outnumbered by goats, birds, and even monkeys!  Oh, well.  I managed to find six, and the one that follows this turned out to be a bit of a curve ball as you'll see.

Hippie with Kitty . . . and something else

The fresh faced hippie boy and his kitty look so sweet . . .
and then we see his leather adjustable cock ring.  Oh, well.

John

This is Playgirl model John Pelico and a cat.  The cat looks pissed off,
and John looks a little bit worried.  Must have been an "interesting" photo shoot.

Judicial

I'm sure it wasn't the cat the judge was looking at.

Mantle

My sister once had a cat like this one, and it hated her husband.  It would lurk on top of the fridge, and when brother-in-law would stoop over to get a beer out, kitty would sink all four sets of claws into his back.  The cat ended up being banished to the garage, but would still manage to attack him.

Fluffy

The quality on this one is not so great . . . and I even worked on it.  Oh, well.  A cat is a cat.

Festival of Furry Fellows, Part 1 - Unknown nudes

A few weeks ago, we had a lot of fun (and got a lot of good info) from an unknown models series.  Today I'm repeating that, but adding a hairy theme and making it a double feature.  So put on your eyeglasses and sharpen your memories, because here we go.  This first guy reminds me of an inmate at a juvenile detention facility where I worked once upon a time.  Not my favorite job.

Dunes

We can only hope this was taken in the morning before the sand got really hot.
This is one that I'd really, really like a name for, by the way.

Tippy Toes

I can hear some photographer telling this unnamed model,
"Now get on your tiptoes and flap your arms like wings."

For Albert

That sound you just heard is probably Albert the Gay Belgian
falling on the floor in a fit of joy when he saw this unknown model.

WPG Style

This has Western Photography Guild written all over it,
but I don't have any proof of that . . . or a name for the model.

Festival of Furry Fellows, Part 2 - Posing straps

Part two of the Festival of Furry Fellows double feature contains some of my favorite unidentified models in posing straps.  This looks like AMG, and I love the socks.

Trail

This is least hairy of today's men, but what he has is in an area
some of you have a thing for.  You know who you are, lol!

Boston Blackie

I wish I had a pencil thin mustache
                                                    The Boston Blackie kind
                                                    A two-toned Ricky Ricardo Jacket
And an autographed picture of Andy Devine

                                                    - - Jimmy Buffett

Fish nets and rope

This guy does not look at all happy,
and the legs are the best part.

Another Superman

I wonder if the auditions for the original "Superman" looked like this.
Although I don't have a model's name, the photo by Bruce for obvious reasons.

Lalaing models

While reorganizing some of my files, I found a group of photo studies made either by or for the Anglo-Belgian sculptor Jacque Lalaing.  There were about a dozen "new" ones that I had collected since the last series on this subject.  We start this group with a guy who puts his best foot forward.

Wrestling

I think this may be the same model as the guy in photo #4 in today's series.
I have several shots of him wrestling with this headless life-size doll.  Odd.

Odd position

There are only one or two other photos of this model in my collection, and this
one is by far the best of them.  He looks like he's holding a staff behind his back.

Popular with the artist

This attractive model appears on so many of Lalaing's  photo studies that I gave him his own series a while back.  And what's the rigging around his right arm?  I think I see a sword there.

Block

I posted another photo from this session over a year ago in which the model's face
was completely hidden . . . not that you can see that much in this version.

Tom of Finland and Jim French (Colt) Parallels

One doesn't have to be an expert to see that there are some parallels between the work of Tom of Finland and Jim French of Colt Studio.  I did some research, and although their work has been exhibited together and the Tom of Finland Foundation's website effusively praises French, I haven't been able to find any evidence they ever collaborated or even met.  That won't stop me, however, from presenting a series showing some similar work.  Drawings by Tom and photos by Jim.

Ledermeister

That's Ledermeister on the left in a Colt photo that was a bit edgy for its time.

Woodsy

Being Finnish, Tom incorporated quite a few woodland setting into his work.

Treed

I really should know this Colt model's name, but can't think of it.

Trio

The nice young men seem to be making friends in this one.

Crowd of three

I can't quite figure out the setting for this Colt leather trio.

Come over here

This Tom of Finland character seems to be beckoning someone to come to him.

Vito

This might be a Colt polaroid of Vito Cesare.

Affectional pair

This duo is definitely on the vanilla side when it comes to Tom of Finland's work.

Erron and friend

Erron and his friend seem to be ready to get frisky in this Colt photo.

FKK Archery Through the Years

The FKK movement borrowed a certain amount of primitivism from the earlier Wandervogelers,
so today we look at some guys with bows and arrows through the years of the 20th Century.
We start with a handsome 1911 image that combines archery with a spear.  The nudity gets less restrained as we move through the years, but the magazine photo quality is spotty at best.

1928

1928 was a busy year for FKK magazine photos featuring archery, with no less than three.
The first in our series manages to capture the man's musculature beautifully,
despite the well known limitations of magazine photo production at the time.

1928 II

I think this middle aged man from 1928 is practicing archery by a lake.

1928 III

Our third 1928 image features a homemade bow and arrow,
but the photo is nice despite the cheap props.

1951

For some reason the FKK magazines in the online database didn't have any archery photos between 1928 and 1951, and even then, it was only from the waist up.  This one's Austrian.

1957

"I shot an arrow into the air . . . " in 1957.

1959

Practicing archery on a beach seems odd, as does the guy in a robe in the right background.

1965

Maybe it was cold when this photo of an archer was made in 1965.

Black Men, Part 1 - Nudes

I had a request from Mark in Tampa for an all African-American series
and decided to do a double feature.  We'll start the R-rated portion with a
handsome fellow whom I think is Henry Jones by Bruce of LA.

Franklin

Bob Mizer took this photo of Franklin Jones with a lot of fish nets.

Robert

Robert Deckard looks serious, but stunning, in this photo by Bruce of LA.

Arthur

This is "Arthur" as photographed by TWS, an outfit I know nothing about.

Howard

Lon of New York photographed Howard Hunter leaning against a column.

Black Men, Part 2 - Semi-nudes

We open the G-rated half of our double feature with a Bruce of LA posing strap photo of
Leroy Williams that was left over from a previous Dudes in the Desert series.
