Eddie Williams

One doesn't usually think of desert landscapes in relation to Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild, but this photo of Eddie Williams sure looks like it.

Doug DeWitt

The brilliant Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild took this shot of Doug DeWitt.

Bill Keehan

This is Bill Keehan by Western Photography Guild.

Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild used a twisted

fish net as a prop in this shot of Bill Melby.

Western Photography Guild Quarterly Series - Western Skies

Don Whitman's artistry is on for today as we have our quarterly Western Photography Guild series.  This time we focus on men photographed against the Western sky, starting with Glen Hudson.

Jerry Beal

The model here is Jerry Beal, and he seems to be trying to shift a very large rock.

Ray McGuire

You Levis fanciers may enjoy this shot of Ray McGuire.

Daryl French

Brian E sent me this unusual photo of Daryl French.

Thanks, Brian!

Pat and Kenny

The first of two duos in today's set includes Pat Burnham and Kenny Owens.

Bill Pugliese

We get a nice patch of thatch in this posing strap shot of Bill Pugliese.

Marc Arno

One of my favorite WPG models is Marc Arno,

and he does not disappoint here.

Dick and Don

These two hunks with a rope are Dick Keifer and Don Longworthy.

Hunter Metcalf

In a rare instance for a Don Whitman photo, I removed yellowing from this photo of Hunter Metcalf.  I downloaded it from a resale website, so it's could have come from a collection that either included reprints or was not properly conserved.  Mr. Whitman's niece and nephew have done a remarkable job of preserving his legacy, both in terms of history and conservation.

Doran Propp

Finishing the series with Doran Propp and his ditchdigger tan.

Jim Lassiter

Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild posed Jim Lassiter with a round mirror.

Jim Dardanis

Our last photo of the day is supposed to be Jim Dardanis by Western Photography Guild,

but the surrounding don't look like Don Whitman's usual Western terrain.

Western Photography Guild Ad

I don't think I've ever seen a centerfold that was also an ad, but here we have one.

That's Carter Lovisone (at right) with Bill Neal, and the photographer

was the immortal Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild.

Probably the most artistic image of the day.

Ten by Ten, Yet Again

Time for another ten photos by ten of the best classic era physique photographers.  We start

with a shot of Darren De Long by Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild.

Here we see Carter Lovisone by Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild.
