Yes, men did actually walk around like this back in the day.
My family used to hope that Miss Taylor would wear mohair sweaters. When she did, we made more money because we had over 300 Angora goats. They were smelly, disagreeable creatures, but quite profitable.
I remember caftans and djaballahs (sp?) but never owned any -Dee Exx
