Today's two part series is about warrior sculptures, and part one starts with an outdoor copy of The God from Cape Artemision. No one seems to be sure if it is Zeus or Poseidon, but both of them could be warriors in the right situations. I think there is a popular video game that uses the image.

I'm glad they were, but WHY were the warriors depicted nude?
ReplyDeleteTradition? Whatever the reason, I'm glad.
DeleteButt, who's the cute guy between his legs ??
ReplyDeleteLooks like a modern re-enactor, and possibly female.
DeleteJ’ai vu l’original du bronzé de l’Artémision au Musée national archéologique d’Athènes.
ReplyDeleteCe bronze est bien plus saissant dans son cadre extérieur.
