After what?

Our last bit from the Scumbeast Beach Collection was labeled "After Care."  After what?
Tomorrow, we'll look at some of Ken's Cowboys.

  1. I am tempted to think this was a private snap - but then who would have developed it? Photos like that could get you arrested.

    1. I read a fascinating article back during my tumblr days that described an actual underground network of photo labs in American cities (plus Toronto) that would develop such photos. One had to be in the know, and in some cases, the right person had to be working, but it could be done. If I can find it, I will send you a link.

    2. Now, that really is news to me. How fascinating. I would have hoped the same thing went on - in the big cities - in Britain, but I've never heard of it. Private nude shots were not very policed but any hint of illegal intimacy, and you could get collared.

  2. The is the joke about the photographer who shared our likes who would include a carrier pigeon in the box when he mailed his film to the manufacturer for developing and printing. Once it was possible to see the image that had been captured, it was illegal deposit it in the U.S. mail system.

  3. When I was at a photo Kab, 1990's,
The policy was " frisky nudes' okay" except insertion, or underage.

  4. When I was shooting film, there was indeed an informal "network" of labs that would process adult pix, with the usual exclusions,. There was one on Decatur street in New Orleans, I want to say it was associated with a "bookstore" and it was called "Uncle..." They encourage people to bring their Carnival film to them, which I did, since I sometimes took pix I didn't remember taking.-DeeExx

    1. " . . . didn't remember taking." LOL, a true Carnival situation if ever there was one. I had a few Carnival experiences that I remembered and wished I hadn't.
