It's military day, and I have no location for this item from the LIFE archive.
Pendant la crise libanaise de julliet à octobre 1958. The first implementation of the Eisenhower Doctrine during the Cold War. Since then where have your interventions gotten you ? All these interventions and not very much to show, just like France and Britain when we had these nations as colonies, a total waste of trésor and life. And now obsessed with Iran, a deadly hornets nest. Of course your government/regime think it will be a “cakewalk” like Iraq and Afghanistan, as usual.
