John Grimek
Our closing photo of John Grimek was in Prof. Desbonnet's personal collection and is believed
to have been taken by him. The two knew and respected each other.
There is no account that Desbonnet was homosexual or bi, which fascinates me. I also do not gather that his work assumed legal risks at the time…also fascinating. Thanks for the beautiful post. bns
Physiology, but he did not have a formal degree. He completed two years of medical school, but quit to study physiology independently. His physical culture students called him "professor," and the title stuck.
Desbonnet et Grimek, deux légendes de la culture physique. Ils se sont recontrés en 1949, lorsque Grimek s’est rendu à Paris et a fait connaissance de Desbonnet et de son épouse Julie. 🇫🇷🌟🇺🇸
One of the all time great bodybuilders. He had what he called a relaxed approach, working the entire body during workouts and relaxing in between reps. It paid off he always looked nothing short of magnificent. Enjoyable set Jerry!
Good-looker.
