Keeping it close to the ground

For Monday I'm featuring some men sitting on the ground,

 starting with a model I really wish I had more photos of.

He doesn't look too happy, but maybe they were going for that sort of look.

Our model in this one is squatting, but he's still keeping it close to the ground.

This one was left out of one of my "boy next door" sets,

and now I can't imagine why.  I mean just look at him.

My friend Chunkster called this one "interesting."

George Platt Lynes Day, Again - Part 2

The semi-nude section of George Platt Lynes Day starts 

with this dramatically lighted and undated photo of Alfred Herrick.

Lynes did a memorable series of photos of Tex Smutney and Buddy Stanley about 1941.

This is just one of the quite memorable images from that set.

Francois Moncion posed for this G.P. Lynes photo in 1951.

This 1953 Lynes photo of Fred "Butch" Melton and Wilbur Pippin is 

a personal favorite.  Disclosure:  This is a slightly cropped version I used 

because it is clearer than my best copy of the original.

Jack Fontan was a friend and regular model for George Platt Lynes.  

I believe this was taken at Martha's Vineyard beach house.

George Platt Lynes Day, Again - Part 1

You've probably noticed by now that I never get tired of the amazing work of George Platt Lynes.  Over the past few months, a number of "new" photos by this artist have been showing up on line.

Unfortunately, most of these have little or no information other than the photographer.  Most of today's nude photos are from this group.  The greatest repository of Lynes' work is in his bequest to the Kinsey Institute, but I'm sure they would add info if they had released these picture.

Lynes used architectural devices in some of his photos, 

and I have no clue as to what the purpose of this framing might have been.
I have been able to identify the model as Teddy Chitwood, though.

Our Bum Brigade picture of the day is an unidentified Lynes model from 1952.

There was no date and no models name attached to this interesting Lynes image, 

but he did a number of photos using translucent glass panels around 1940.

This 1955 photo of Robert Harris is one of Lyne's more "in your face"
treatments of male genitalia.  He usually took a more subtle approach.

As much as I post George Platt Lynes photos, you'd think I would know this handsome model's name by now, but I don't.  Anyone know?  This is one of those "new" Lynes images that popped up 

recently on line without any information other than the photographer's name.

Getting out of the Water

Today's theme is men getting out of the water after a swim.

This should tick a few boxes among the fan base.

And one for the Bum Brigade.  Heads up, Albert!

I suppose that's just one end of it, but that looks like a really small pool.
