Bryan B's Denny Denfield Photos

Regular contributor and commentator Bryan B recently shared with me his huge collection of classic era physique photos.  Today's set is the first comprised entirely of material from this treasure trove, and we start with the amazing work of Bay Area photographer Denny Denfield.  Like all but the last of today's models, our first subject posing in a meadow is unidentified.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Bryan for his generosity.

 

Pair

The only duo in today's set came from a private collection.

 

Private Collection

This is the second of three photos provided by Bryan B for today's series which came from a private collector's album.  It is also the first of two made at the same scenic beach with the same model.

 

Sprawled

 

A rocky beach was the setting for this model in a sprawling pose.

Favorite location

Denny Denfield used this rock on the shore of San Francisco Bay for a number of important photo shoots.  If you look closely, you can see one of the bay bridges at lower right.

 

Door Jamb

Our only indoor photo of the day has a model leaning out from a door jamb.

 

Reclining in the Dunes

This reclining nude is another photo from a private collector's

 personal album of Denny Denfield's work.

 

Mountains

Denny Denfield took this photo in a mountainous area, probably near San Francisco.

 

Classic seashore

Denny Denfield used a classic California seashore for this impressive photo.

 

Brian Dexter

FKK International

Today we look at some FKK magazines' representations of international naturist.

We start with a 1980s Australian on a putting green.

 

Canada

It was 1980 when this picture of Canadian archers was published.

 

Denmark

The photography looks like 1930, but a reputable FKK 

database places this picture from Denmark at 1950.

 

DDR - East Germany

The old East Germany or DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) initially frowned 

on FKK as a holdover from decadent capitalist times, but they soon loosened up.  

I'm not sure if this 1979 photo was published in the East or in the West, however.

 

France

Netherlands

The Netherlands has long had its own thriving naturist tradition,

so it was no surprise to find them prominently shown in the FKK press.

 

New Zealand

This bit of cultural appropriation probably would not be tolerated in New Zealand today,

but when FKK published this in the 1970s, it likely didn't cause much of a stir.

 

Spain

Although they look like athletes, these Spaniards appeared in a 1933 FKK publication.

Switzerland

At one time Switzerland had its own parallel FKK organization, and there still are a few vestigial branches.  Unfortunately, a sex club chain has co-opted the name to brand some of its locations.

The photo above is supposed to be from the late 1940s.

 

USA

Our last FKK magazine international guest photo is this 1968 image

 from Sunshine Park at Mays Landing, New Jersey, USA.
