The location for this AMG photo is often mistaken for the mansion where the classic film Sunset Boulevard was shot. While it does look like it, the actual owner was a psychic who
traded the use of the place to physique photographers for free pictures.

DeleteHollywood film producer Sol Wurtzel’s estate in Bel Air designed by Wallace Neff. Other owners of the mansion were Howard Hughes and heiress Dolly Green, whose oilman father founded the city of Beverly Hills. Mizer photographed several of his physique models at the estate. Though Arnie Payne was photographed at the mansion used in Sunset Boulevard. Mizer also photographed models at mansions that were being demolished due to rezoning and redevelopment….:)
ReplyDeleteMany of his homes are still standing having been designated historical sites. I hope this one survived.
ReplyDeleteHistoric preservation has been spotty in LA in the past, but they've been doing somewhat better in recent years. We can hope.
