First Century Roman Hercules
This 1st C. Roman bronze of Hercules as a young man is one of the
more subdued versions of the hero. It was found near Tivoli.
- Hercules som Apollo - The gardens and fountains of Tivoli near Rome must be seen. The fountains are all controlled without pumps by gravitational forces, a true engineering feat for its time. The short film Eaux d’artifice by the strange Kenneth Anger presents them beautifully.
